Trained in cooking at  Escola de Turismo e Hotelaria de Lisboa and in molecular gastronomy at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Alexandre Silva is synonymous with irreverence , creativity and innovation. Silva was the winner of the Portuguese cooking show Top Chef in 2012, and that opened the doors for him to work in one of the world’s best restaurants: El Celler de Can Roca. After working as an executive chef in various restaurants in Portugal, in 2015 he opened LOCO, and with that an experimental laboratory where he develops new techniques and tries new products. In 2016 it received a Michelin Star, making it one of the few restaurants to have achieved such an accolade so soon after opening.
