This young chef from Lalín trained in restaurants such as Paco Roncero’s La Terraza del Casino, in Madrid; the Torres brothers’ Dos Cielos, in Barcelona; and in Casa Solla, with Pepe Solla, in Pontevedra. In 2010 Diego López took the reins of the family restaurant La Molinera (Lalín), which was founded in 1985 and is famed for is Galician stew. Keeping with the identity of “Moli”, he offers renovated proposals of Galician cuisine, which led him to win the Chef of the Year award at the Fórum Gastronómico in A Coruña in 2014. Diego López is also an ambassador of Galicia in Latin American countries, particularly in Mexico, where he has collaborated with chef Roberto Ruiz’s restaurant Punto MX; the only Mexican restaurant to hold a Michelin Star.
He will participate in the SAL A Coruña Atlantic Flavours Festival in an Atlantic Jam Session alongside Daniel López (O Camiño do Inglés).
