Self-taught, Pepe Solla started his career as a sommelier in his family’s restaurant, Casa Solla, in Poio (Pontevedra). Little by little his interest for the intricacies of the restaurant became a vocation and, after training with masters such as Ferrán Adriá, he took the reins of the family business in 2001. He did so transforming it into an unmissable restaurant in avant-garde Galician cuisine, always with high quality and creativity as a hallmark. Casa Solla has continuously held a Michelin Star since 1980, being one of the eateries to have held this recognition for the longest amount of time. Solla is a founding member of the Galician Association of Sommeliers and of Grupo Nove, an association made up of chefs that all have innovation, creativity and devotion to native produce in common.
