Jorge Gago is a very young chef from Caldas de Reis. He left his job as a forestry agent to focus on his passion: the kitchen. He trained in the kitchens of A Curtidoría and Manso (Santiago de Compostela) and the no longer running A Estación in Cambre. In 2016, A Maceta opened in Santiago de Compostela under Gago’s leadership in the kitchen. After eight months working in this restaurant, he received the Cociñeiro Novo 2017 award, which acknowledges emerging Galician chefs that are committed to local, ecological produce.

At A Maceta there is a commitment to produce, both local and foreign, but always with a common denominator: extreme quality. Jorge Gago makes efforts to offer a different, innovative gastronomic experience, moving with agility through different trends, from Asian touches to Latin ones.

He will participate in the SAL A Coruña Atlantic Flavours Festival in an Atlantic Jam Session alongside Ana Portals (Solleiros) and Marco Varela (Sábrego).
